At The Muddy Pug Farm & Sanctuary, every resident has a story. Some escaped slaughter. Some survived neglect or abandonment. Others were surrendered because their families could no longer care for them. While their journeys here are all different, they now share one thing in common—a promise of lifelong sanctuary.
Unlike a petting zoo or working farm, our residents are not here for entertainment. This is their home.
When you visit, you'll have the opportunity to meet many of our rescued resident ambassadors, hear their individual stories, and learn what sanctuary truly means. You'll discover how compassion, respect, and giving animals the freedom to simply be themselves creates an experience that is both educational and deeply meaningful.

Respecting Resident Autonomy
One of our core values is that this is our residents' home—not ours.
We never force interactions. If Lark, our beautiful and shy sheep, decides she'd rather graze than say hello, that's her choice. If a Impera, our little mini-lop bunny, prefers to stay in a quiet corner, we respect that. By allowing our residents to choose whether and how they engage with visitors, we honor the dignity and autonomy every living being deserves.
Ironically, we've found that when animals are free to choose, they often become the most curious and enthusiastic hosts.
